When my husband & I found out we were expecting a baby boy, I had to own up to my promise of designing a Philadelphia Flyers nursery.  Most people immediately imagined an overwhelmingly bright orange room - but, rest assured, while I agreed to a sports-themed room, I wasn't going to allow anything tasteless!

As with any space, especially "themed" rooms, it is important to edit, edit, edit!  It's very easy to get carried away, buy everything sold for the theme and cram it all in the room.  Pick a few things that speak directly to the theme but then add details in other ways - making associations to colors & materials and creating impact by paying attention to the smaller details too.
